Negroni Bay Recipe!

OH  HELLO,
g   o   r   g   e   o   u   s!
This is exciting, two posts in one day (omg!) and boy does it feel good. It's only "6pm" and I feel like I've totally crushed this Sunday. That extra hour has been really good to me.

One thing I got to do this weekend was make one seriously delicious (and beautiful) cocktail. As you probably know, Pete and I absolutely love hosting people to our home! We enjoy preparing our house, lots of snacks and of course that always includes delicious cocktails for our guests to enjoy.

Today I'm sharing with you a great & simple cocktail with Georgian Bay Gin (my favourite!) This is a good one now that the weather is getting cooler and more cosy. Hope you enjoy!

Negroni Bay:
3/4 oz. Georgian Bay Gin
3/4 oz. Italian Sweet Vermouth
3/4 oz. Aperol
3/4 oz. Cointreau
2 Dash Orange Bitters

* Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and stir (or shake!) with ice. Strain into an old fashioned glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with orange zest.

Enjoy with friends & people you love! This was so delicious. Pete and I loved it and will definitely be making it again when we have friends over at our place.

Robbie Burns Day Event

Happy Monday! Today is Robbie Burns Day!: the annual celebratory tribe to the life, works and spirit of the great Scottish poet Robert Burns (1759-1796) Celebrated on, or about, the Bard's birthday, January 25th, Burns suppers range from stentoriously formal gatherings of formal gatherings of esthetes and scholars to uproariously informal rave-ups of drunkards and louts.

Last week Pete and I were lucky enough to attend an incredible Robbie Burns celebration at Brassai in Toronto. We sat with wonderful bloggers and influencers and made new friends while tasting the most delicious whiskey. We enjoyed tastings of Auchentoshan, Bowmore and Laphroaig and Glen Garioch. We fancy, huh?

Pete is a big whiskey fan and has always loved the drink. Since I am more of a sweet drink kind of girl, I like cocktails instead of my drinks neat or on ice. They were making absolutely delicious whiskey cocktails, read on for one of the recipes we got to try at the event!

We got to taste a three course meal that was absolutely incredible. Each course was paired with an extremely delicious cocktail. We also did a tasting of six different types of whiskey. It was so interesting to hear about how the whiskey is made and all kinds of ingredients in each kind. We detected the flavours in each by smelling and tasting every one (it was a very entertaining Wednesday night!)

Here are some beautiful photo's from our night, captured by Rick Vyrostko Photography

Canada Day "Bloody Maria" with Casamigos!

h  a  p  p  y     s  a  t  u  r  d  a  y   ♥

I hope everyone is have an amazing weekend so far! It's been an awesome one for me so far. This post is actually extra perfect for today since I woke up with a bit of a hangover today (after celebrating pride last night until 3am with my besties!)

Since Canada Day is right around the corner, I really wanted to share a delicious cocktail recipe for you guys to make up at the cottage or by the pool, or when you wake up feeling rough after celebrating! I first learned about Casamigos back in November when I had the pleasure of meeting with Rande Gerber at a private blogger event and learning all about the tequila that him, George Clooney and Mike Meldman created. Read more about it below:

Longtime friends George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman love tequila. On the rocks, by the shot, at times, straight from the bottle. Tequila-filled nights with friends is how Casamigos was born. Our idea was to make the best-tasting, smoothest tequila whose taste didn’t have to be covered up with salt or lime. So we did. The tequila was made just for us. We worked on the creation of Casamigos with our master distiller in Jalisco, Mexico for years, and held many blind tastings until we knew we got it right. We’ve been drinking our tequila with friends and family for over five years now. It was never intended to be released to the public. It’s all we serve at our homes in Mexico, so it’s literally our house tequila. We are delighted that consumers and tequila connoisseurs alike enjoy our award-winning spirit. This is quality you can taste, so raise a glass with our award-winning spirit.

BLOODY MARIA

2 Parts Casamigos Reposado Tequila
1 1/2 Parts Homemade Bloody Mix
Fresh Lime Juice
Combine all ingredients with ice. Garnish with Jerky, Pepperoncini, Olive, & Celery.
