happy new year + 2018 goals

Oh hello there, Happy Sunday and Happy New Year! It's been a while (oops) but I am beyond excited to be back in action and (hopefully) getting back into the habit of posting here regularly.

So, every year I make goals for the upcoming year! It's actually one of my favourite things to do. I've never been one for resolutions, but the idea of coming up with a list of things you want to try, explore or achieve has always been appealing to me! Esp since I am a list enthusiast ♥

This list is a work in progress and I am sure there will be plenty more to add in the coming weeks, but for now I'm happy to share what I've got. My list is of general goals, some habits, some dreams, and some that are things to do more often or try out.

I will say this too, that there are definitely some more personal goals I don't share on my blog or social media but are things I also hope to accomplish but like to keep to myself.

After getting caught up on my favourite podcast "Happier" I am also going to do another type of goal list for the year! On the podcast, they talked about doing 18 in 2018! 18 goals + things to do this year that can be checked off once completed. So instead of saying "I want to start taking more time to read" you could say "I want to read the book of Lykke" since that can be crossed off! I really loved this idea and am going to take some items from my above list and add some more to make my 18 in 2018 list. ♥ I am excited to have lots more awesome stuff to add.

Are you setting goals or making any lists for 2018?!

Happy New Year + Hello 2017!

Oh hello there and Happy 2017 to all you beautiful humans.

I can't believe 2017 is finally here. I'm not gonna lie,. 2016 was a really really great year for me, and I almost feel guilty. A lot of things happened in 2016 that were not great, some things absolutely horrible..but lots of good things happened too!

And you guys know me, I'm not one to dwell on the things that sucked or were horrible, but more so focus on the really lovely, happy, wonderful things that happened instead.

I plan on doing a full wrap up of 2016 post soon, and also my favourite posts from the year! But for now I will do a quick glimpse in to the awesomeness that happened this year ♥
  • My besties surprised me with my ticket to Vegas!
  • Was treated to the most magical wedding shower(s)!

We'll be spending a lot of time in the next few months getting settled in to our home and I could not be happier to just spend time with Pete, and really relax and recharge.

Happy New Year - Resolution/Goal Setting!

*Happy New Year Everyone! *
2015 was probably one of my best years to date - it was filled with so many special moments and all in all I feel beyond lucky for what I experienced through out the year.

Obviously getting engaged to Pete was by far my favourite moment of 2015! I am looking forward to doing a wrap up post of my favourite moments of 2015 and reflecting on such an incredible year.

So with a new year comes a new list of challenges, adventures and goals. This is my favourite part! I've spent some time the past few weeks thinking of my goals for 2016. Everyone chooses what is best for them when it comes to looking at the year ahead - some like to make resolutions, some make goals, some want to keep things as they are because life is just too good.

Ever since I started this blog I have done my goals for the year and it's something I always look forward to, especially after Christmas is over. Take a look at my 2015 goals to get an idea of how ambitious I can get (haha) - Also, for the past two years I've chosen to do a word for the year - In 2014 my word was Dedication and my word for 2015 was Gratitude - I will be posting my 2016 word along with my goals in the next week!

So what works best for you? Setting goals? resolutions? or both? Looking forward to another amazing year and feeling more inspired than ever (as Pete and I look up healthy recipes, open our new blender and read joyous health!)
