we're having a baby (!!!)

B  A  B  Y        W  H  I  S  H
Ohhhhhhh wow! It's been a minute and it's mostly because of the fact that we've got some BIG NEWS around here! Yep, it's true! Pete and I are having a baby and we're due November 16th.

Words can't express how excited and grateful we are. The timing in our lives feels just right and I am so glad we can finally share this news with the world.

These past few months have been really tough and emotional. In February I lost my Uncle Al who passed away from cancer and was living in Thailand, so we got to spend lots of time talking to him online before he was gone. Two weeks ago my precious Grandpa passed away at the age of 97 (talk about an incredible life) and thankfully we got to see him all the time, especially in the past year while he was in the hospital and nursing home. Both these people mean so much to me and losing them has been heart breaking for me and my whole family (Pete included)

But, in times of loss and heart ache, there is life and love, and I truly believe that our little baby is a tiny miracle here to bring us joy and happiness during such a tough time. Of course it would regardless, but having this to look forward to has brought us all the good vibes.

I have lots to say about the first trimester and how this has been such a crazy, life changing experience (that I am glad I managed to stay awake for, lol) but I plan to do a whole blog post about my first trimester and reflect on my first few months of pregnancy.

This is all so new to us, and every day is different. I am excited for whats to come and above all could not be more excited to bring baby Whish into a world filled with so many incredible people who will love him/her SO SO SO much. The support and excitement our families, friends, coworkers and community have shown has been so amazing. I have no words.

SO MUCH GRATITUDE! More updates on our new adventure very soon.

Love you all. xo

life, lately [ a summer update ]

// Happy Sunday! ♥ Long time, no talk (or write!) I do feel like there's so much to say and so much that has happened so I will do my best to fill y'all in

- Summer is hereeee! It's been a weird, very rainy one but it's here. & before we know it, it'll be gone! We've pretty much got plans for every weekend for the rest of the Summer and lots to look forward to.

- Weddings, weddings, weddings! You may of remembered me blogging about it a few months back, but I've got a little #sidehustle going on :) -- day-of wedding coordinating! I had my first one one Friday (+ it also happened to be my good pals' wedding) it was just lovely and it felt good to get my first one under my belt. Wedding #2 is happening next Saturday!

- Work is wonderful. I am now now five months into my new job and am just loving it so much. I feel so lucky to be there and to do something I truly love (plan events + make people happy!) It's been busy, but really fun, challenging, and rewarding. I'm so happy!

- Our home is really feeling like home. It has for a while now, but revamping our patio was the icing on the cake and looks sooooo good (I am going to do some before & after photos in a post soon) We've still got some things to do here and there, but things are really coming together and we're loving it (did I mention it's a five minute walk from work?) Our next big project is doing some work to the bedroom to make it as pretty as the rest of the house.

- Wedded bliss! It's been over a year since Pete and I got married, and over NINE of us being together, and I just can't help but gush over him still. We spent the last two days relaxing (actually though), snuggling, walking, adventuring, cleaning, starting to plan our next trip (!!), and just having the best time. I am just so lucky to do life with someone so amazing.

- Catch me on Instagrammm if you want some more constant dedicated life updates :) - I hated stories at first and now I really love doing them. If you don't follow me then let's bee besties + make it happen @heyjulesxo - it's just so much easier to share little bits and pieces there.

& if you still read this little ol' blog, then thank you for not giving up on me! I will still be updating when I can and hopefully more often than I have been lately! I'm not going to lie, it is always on at least one of my "to-do-lists" hehe

cute toronto - baddies

b   a   d   d   i   e   s       ///
For our first wedding anniversary Pete and I made a list of fun things to do in Toronto and were off on some great adventures! We had lots of things on our list and almost completed every single thing! One thing on our list was to check out a really awesome brunch spot/cafe in the west end called Baddies.

It's beautifully crisp and white inside. The decor is perfect and most definitely a dream as far as pretty photo's go. Marble table tops, ashy tones, lovely wallpaper and stadium style benches in one part of the cafe. The menu is small and simple, but awesome. I had the smashed avocado toast with egg and Pete had a breakfast sandwich. Our food was SO good! Absolutely delicious. After our food we enjoyed two of the most glorious cappuccino's you ever did see.

I was excited to bust out my DSLR for the first time in a while! Excited to (try) and get back into the whole blogging thing and really make some more time for this here lil' baby.

Toronto pals, or anyone visiting - you should definitely check out Baddies when you're here. They're open Monday - Saturday 8am-4pm.  -- 679 Landsdowne Ave is the address, and for a little more love + inspiration follow them on Instagram @baddies.caf but for now, enjoy some of my  snaps! ♥

one year wedding anniversary lovin'

One year ago today I got to marry the love of my life!

I can't believe that a year has flown by and we're celebrating our wedding anniversary. Thinking about our wedding still makes me feel insanely happy and filled with love. After all the planning and crafting and dreaming, we really pulled off the perfect wedding.

For our anniversary Pete and I decided to stay in Toronto and just spend time together while doing our favourite things and going to our favourite places. It's been so lovely so far, and we've got the day off tomorrow to continue the celebrating.

Today after walking around the city all day going on adventures, we had dinner at one of our fave spots and talked about some of our favourite wedding memories (I know, I know..right?) My heart is so full and I am beyond thankful that I get to spend every day with Pete. Every day is filled with laughs and good times, and I am so excited for all that's to come for both of us! I started going through our wedding photo's and here are just a few of my favourites! I could of kept going & going but this is already A LOT. Sending love to everyone today ♥
