i fell in love (with a coffee & flower shop) in san diego

// Happy Sunday Y'all.

I've been meaning to start my Cali blog post(s) for the past week and a half or so, and I am glad that I am finally getting around to it! As you can imagine I took a lotttt of photo's on our California trip. Between my IPhone and my DSLR, I can safely say we had all things covered.

I am going to be sharing bits and pieces of our trip for the next little while and tonight I am talking about one of the cuuuutest spots of our trip (and ever) Coffee + Flowers AKA Communal Coffee and Native Poppy- this was one of the first places I had found out about when researching things to do in San Diego and it most definitely did not disappoint.

As soon as we pulled up and the sun was shining down on the giant type reading COFFEE + FLOWERS, I knew I had found my spot. Pete and I grabbed coffee and breakfast and sat outside in their absolutely adorable back courtyard. We both had delicious egg & veggie type meals, coffees and then the most devine lavender/goat cheese + honey toast (ohhh emmmm geeeee)

Communal Coffee and Native Poppy are two totally separate businesses who join forces together to share one really big, beautiful, dreaaaamy space. As I walked around looking at every detail I couldn't help but sigh at the realization that this place was so similar to how I picture my dream shop would be.

Coffee + Flowers are legit two of my favourite things in the world and I am so glad we got to visit this spot. Very special and most definitely recommended for suuuuuure. I got some really cute stuff from the shop - a tote bag, an amazing soda class & a pretty necklace.

San Diego was sunny, friendly and filled with cute! Loved it. I've got my Cali posts coming soon, including one that will be all about the cutest store I've ever been to - Pigment

cute toronto - baddies

b   a   d   d   i   e   s       ///
For our first wedding anniversary Pete and I made a list of fun things to do in Toronto and were off on some great adventures! We had lots of things on our list and almost completed every single thing! One thing on our list was to check out a really awesome brunch spot/cafe in the west end called Baddies.

It's beautifully crisp and white inside. The decor is perfect and most definitely a dream as far as pretty photo's go. Marble table tops, ashy tones, lovely wallpaper and stadium style benches in one part of the cafe. The menu is small and simple, but awesome. I had the smashed avocado toast with egg and Pete had a breakfast sandwich. Our food was SO good! Absolutely delicious. After our food we enjoyed two of the most glorious cappuccino's you ever did see.

I was excited to bust out my DSLR for the first time in a while! Excited to (try) and get back into the whole blogging thing and really make some more time for this here lil' baby.

Toronto pals, or anyone visiting - you should definitely check out Baddies when you're here. They're open Monday - Saturday 8am-4pm.  -- 679 Landsdowne Ave is the address, and for a little more love + inspiration follow them on Instagram @baddies.caf but for now, enjoy some of my  snaps! ♥

Happy International Coffee Day!

But first, c o f f e e! ♥
Oh baaaabes, it's my day! Today is International Coffee Day, so of course I am dedicating an entire blog post to my love of this magical drink! Anyone who knows me knows how much I enjoy my coffee. I love the taste, the look, and the act of going for a coffee with someone you love.

Below are some photos of our coffee from around the world; Belgium, London, Edinburgh, Paris, Dublin and Amsterdam. Everywhere we travel we experience coffee in a new and delicious way! I love grabbing a cup of coffee in a new place and people watching.

In honour of the day, here are 5 fun facts about Coffee:
  • Coffee grows on trees, they can grow to be up to 30 feet tall, but are normally grown to be about 10 feet tall for easy- picking
  • The world consumes close to 2.25 billion cups of coffee every day!
  • There is a coffee shop in France where not saying "Hello" and "Please"makes your coffee more expensive! (lolzz, omg this is the best)
  • The original definition of coffee means "wine" (this is making way more sense!) Coffee's original name qahwah, came from the Yemen term for wine. In Turkey it was called Kahveh, until the Dutch referred to it as Koffie, then Coffee was born!
  • New Yorkers costume 7 times more coffee than any other state in America!

Cute Toronto : My Favourite Coffee Shop!

CUTE TORONTO!

Hey all! So it's been a while since I've done a "Cute Toronto" segment, but I am back with one of my favourite places in the city! Little Nicky's is an adorable little coffee shop on Peter St. just off of Queen West, which is a two minute walk from my work! About a year ago my old co-worker (ironically named Nick!) introduced me to this place and I immediately fell in love.

Everything about this coffee shop is wonderful! Not only is the coffee absolutely delicious, but it's as cute as can be! From the decor, to the staff, to the music, it has it all. I love going to Little Nicky's on my lunch and reading a book, or doing some writing! I also love taking a coffee break with some of my favourite co-workers. It's so nice to find a one of a kind coffee shop with some real character to it!

It's always bumpin' in there and it's because it's such an awesome place to be. It's kind of got a New York feel to it as well, which I totally love. It's most definitely my favourite coffee shop in Toronto! So if you're from Toronto and haven't been - GO! & if you're ever visiting the city, stop in and check it out. I promise you won't be disappointed.

(Address is 375 Queen Street West, Toronto) Open 7:30am-6:00pm

Did I mention they make fresh mini doughnuts? Omfg, they do.

Here are some photo's I snapped at Little Nicky's last week! I've been meaning to do this post FOREVER so I am so glad I shared the love.
