great wine with great friends!

H  E  L  L  O    T  H  E  R  E   ♥
It's been a really really rough couple of days. Without going in to too much detail about my thoughts on Tuesday nights US election results, I'll just say that there are better days ahead.

I thought it would be fun to share this blog post about some of my favourite things! Wine, Friends & Sunday's! Oh and what better way to spend my favourite day of the week then spending time with some of my favourite people, in my favourite city, drinking one of my favourite beverages?

Yes, you got it! ♥ WINE! ♥ - I was really excited to try Inception Wine, I've seen it in the LCBO before and was obviously attracted to it because of it's pretty label (because let's be honest, we all judge wine on whats on it's bottle) - "Inception Irresistible White is a white wine made from a blend of Chardonnay, Viognier and Gewürztraminer grapes each harvested by hand at full maturity for maximum fruit expression and crispness. On the palate, the wine is refreshing and just a touch sweet." This bottle retails for $13.95 at the LCBO (sounds like a good Christmas gift idea to me!)

My favourite way to enjoy a good bottle of wine is with great friends and cute-as-can-be snacks. We are definitely the type to pair our wines with fun, simple, delicious snacks/charcuterie boards.

Pete & I went over to our good pal's Amy & Zach's and they hosted us so beautifully as always. Ames created this perfect little cheese tray to go with our white wine. And, can we just talk about how insanely wonderful their place is? Oh, I just love it. It was a bright sunshiny day so I snapped lots of photo's to share with you all. What is your favourite way to drink wine?!

life lately!

Happy Sunday Pals ♥

I had a very chill weekend. I am pretty under the weather so I haven't had much energy to do anything really. It worked out because this was the first weekend in months where we haven't had a wedding, birthday, party or some kind of event to go to. Yesterday I got out of the house for a few hours with Pete as we went exploring, to see the new Beatles movie "Eight Days a Week" (omg so good!) and out for dinner.

I am binge watching Friends (I've watched too many episodes this weekend) and sipping on some hot water lemon & honey ♥ #cosy
  • We've been doing a major clean out of our place lately. Today we got rid of three huge bags of clothes from our closet that we are going to donate. Best feeling ever!
  • THE WALKING DEAD - oh em gee! Pete and I have loved the show forever but were about a half season behind. Well, we saw that the episodes we hadn't seen got added to Netflix..and let's just say we crushed those episodes the past few days. It's SO good. We've got one more to watch to get caught up and then the new one airs tonight!
  • Straight ~chillin~ for the month of October I've been spending the majority of my week days at home this month. I have been trying to spend more time at home relaxing because things have been so busy. It's been really nice! I've been getting some stuff done around the place, doing some crafting and creating and getting caught up on some reading.
  • Pinning up a storm! I have been spending more time on Pinterest lately because I am always looking for inspiration for our future (dream) home. We're looking to buy a place and if I can't have a house, I will dream about what I would do to one if I had one!
  • Christmas is around the corner (ok not right around but pretty damn close) It's just over two months away and I am going to get started on my Christmas shopping this week. We've already sent out invites for our party and I think this year it's going to be better than ever! It's my first official Christmas as a Whish ♥

5 things to do every sunday (to start your week off right!)

Happy Sunday! My favourite day of the week!
// How is everyone doing on this lovely Sunday? I am blogging from an adorable little coffee shop in Toronto called The Tenant and it's been a seriously lovely Sunday so far.

Sunday has always been my favourite day of the week, since I was a little one. Sunday is just always a productive, fun, relaxing and all around great day for me. It's 4:30pm and I already feel like I've accomplished so much, and I thought it would be fun to share with you some things I always like to do on Sunday's to start my week off on the right foot.

// one; Go grocery shopping! We generally do our weekly grocery shop on Sunday's and it's always a good idea to help feel prepared and ready for the week ahead. Going earlier in the day and with the list is an absolute game changer! We try our best to pre-plan our meals so we aren't wasting anything or stuck with no options. Also, a trip for shopping - get an app that shows your flyers for stores near you to see what's on sale, I used one call Reebee and it's great!

// two; Have some "me-time" whether it's painting your nails, having a bath, going shopping, heading to a coffee shop or sitting outside reading a book - I think spending an hour or so to relax and be one with your thoughts it's always really nice and feels perfect for a Sunday.

// three; Make a delicious meal! This morning when Pete and I went to go get groceries, I said "I wanna make you a cute brunch!" and I got all the things I needed to make it as soon as we got home. We've been so busy lately that it seems we haven't even had time to sit down and eat together, so taking the time to at least do one nice home cooked meal on Sunday is always wonderful. Today we are lucky enough to have two because Pete's making us a Sunday Night Dinner!

// four; Plan your week! Even though I try not to have plans every day of the week, it does happen sometimes (especially in the Summer) Use a planner, or your phone to finalize your plans for the week, and the following weekend and then if you have a free day...savour it! (lololol)

// five; Read your favourite blogs! Remember those? With Instagram, Twitter and everything in between, sometimes we forget that there are still so many amazing, talented people out there producing content for us to read! I am going to try to make an extra effort to read new & old blogs and leave comments as much as I can.

What is your favourite thing to do on a Sunday?

Happy Easter + Homemade Macaroon Baskets!

Hello! + Happy Sunday! + Happy Easter!

It's been such an amazing and relaxing weekend. I am feeling happy and refreshed and smiley on this (chilly) Easter Sunday. Yesterday I decided to make some Easter treats that I saw on the cover of my Martha Stewart Living magazine -They are perfectly cute and delicious and easy as pie to make!

Here's what you'll need:
  • 1 pkg (14 ounces) sweetened shredded coconut (fyi - this is 2 bags, 400 grams for my canadian bakers out there!)
  • mini eggs (make sure you hide from your boyfriend/hubby)
  • 4 large egg whites
  • vegetable cooking spray
  • 1/2 teaspoon of course salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Coat mini muffin tins with cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, stir together whites and salt with a fork; mix in coconut. Drop 2 tablespoons of mixture into each prepared tin.
  3. Lightly press mixture into bottom and up sides of each cup. Bake until light golden on top, 28 to 30 minutes.
  4. Let cool in tins on a wire rack 10 minutes, then run a thin metal spatula around sides to loosen. Lift out of cups; let cool completely.
Here's how these little cuties turned out! Oh they are just too adorable, and look even better on this  beautiful vintage plate that Pete's Mom gave to me. They belonged to Pete's Nana and they are SO lovely and the most amazing colour.

sunday smiles - hello spring!

Well, hello there and Happy Sunday! + since I didn't officially dedicate a whole post to it, Happy Spring! ♥ Winter was rough this year in Toronto and I couldn't be happier that the warmer weather is coming, and most importantly some sunshine!

One of my march goals was to fill our home with fresh flowers and plants, and this weekend I most definitely made this happen. I just loving having fresh flowers in our home, they make everything brighter and better.

Now that we've been in our new place for close to 9 months (woah, time flies) it's really starting to feel like a home. I love our space, it's perfectly cute and cosy and every little detail fits our lives and our personalities just right. Today was a really good day - I got so much done and felt extremely happy and productive #bossbabe

Take a peak at some cute little happy parts of our apartment, lookin' floral fresh!:
