my podcast is now live!

c o n f e t t i   c u l t u r e   i s   n o w   l i v e!
click here to listen!!!
Um, you guys. I am so happy right now. A few months ago I got this crazy idea in my head to possibly start a podcast. I love sharing happiness and positivity through this blog, my job, my instagram and of course in my every day life.

I had "start my own podcast" on my 18 for 2018 list, but thought it was a pretty lofty goal that I probably wouldn't be able to pull off. I started putting out some feelers on my insta stories and on social and the response was super positive.

After getting some help, advice and encouragement from Pete and some amazing coworkers of mine, I made my podcast *dream* a reality. I was trying to find the perfect name that felt right for what I was trying to get across. I did think about Hey Jules to keep things cohesive for my brand, but I also wanted to attract some new readers/followers/listeners.

Confetti Culture was an idea that came after a lot of brainstorms I had! It's not secret that I love confetti, and culture (of course is a huge part of my role as Culture Specialist/Happiness Officer) and thought this was so fun. The general message is that life is worth celebrating and there are so many (beautiful) reasons to be happy!

People have been reacting in such a positive, incredible way so far to my first episode that I legit want to cry (happy) tears. I cannot wait to record my second episode (I am thinking this weekend!)

What will I talk about on the podcast? So much stuff but to name a few things!
  • Friendship!
  • Marriage & Relationships!
  • Family!
  • Happiness at work!
  • Hygge!
  • Lykke!
  • Christmas!
  • Side Hustles!
  • Happiness a lifestyle!
  • Social Media!
  • Happiness hacks & tricks!
  • LOVE!

5 things to do every sunday (to start your week off right!)

Happy Sunday! My favourite day of the week!
// How is everyone doing on this lovely Sunday? I am blogging from an adorable little coffee shop in Toronto called The Tenant and it's been a seriously lovely Sunday so far.

Sunday has always been my favourite day of the week, since I was a little one. Sunday is just always a productive, fun, relaxing and all around great day for me. It's 4:30pm and I already feel like I've accomplished so much, and I thought it would be fun to share with you some things I always like to do on Sunday's to start my week off on the right foot.

// one; Go grocery shopping! We generally do our weekly grocery shop on Sunday's and it's always a good idea to help feel prepared and ready for the week ahead. Going earlier in the day and with the list is an absolute game changer! We try our best to pre-plan our meals so we aren't wasting anything or stuck with no options. Also, a trip for shopping - get an app that shows your flyers for stores near you to see what's on sale, I used one call Reebee and it's great!

// two; Have some "me-time" whether it's painting your nails, having a bath, going shopping, heading to a coffee shop or sitting outside reading a book - I think spending an hour or so to relax and be one with your thoughts it's always really nice and feels perfect for a Sunday.

// three; Make a delicious meal! This morning when Pete and I went to go get groceries, I said "I wanna make you a cute brunch!" and I got all the things I needed to make it as soon as we got home. We've been so busy lately that it seems we haven't even had time to sit down and eat together, so taking the time to at least do one nice home cooked meal on Sunday is always wonderful. Today we are lucky enough to have two because Pete's making us a Sunday Night Dinner!

// four; Plan your week! Even though I try not to have plans every day of the week, it does happen sometimes (especially in the Summer) Use a planner, or your phone to finalize your plans for the week, and the following weekend and then if you have a free day...savour it! (lololol)

// five; Read your favourite blogs! Remember those? With Instagram, Twitter and everything in between, sometimes we forget that there are still so many amazing, talented people out there producing content for us to read! I am going to try to make an extra effort to read new & old blogs and leave comments as much as I can.

What is your favourite thing to do on a Sunday?

You are a badass - What I learned from this amazing book!

Happy Monday, You beautiful people! My apologies on my lack of blog posts lately! It's been crazy busy but seriously awesome and life is really good. I've wanted to do this post for a while, and I've finally gathered some of my favourite parts of You are a Badass by Jen Sincero - while reading this book I hi lighted all of my favourite lines, quotes and points. If you're looking for some fun, light hearted motivation then definitely give this book a read! Here are some of the ones I love(d) most:
Be your  best, do your best, demand the best, expect the best, receive the best, and put your best out into the world so everyone can receive your best, too.
  • You are loved. Massively. Ferociously. Unconditionally. The universe is totally freaking out about how awesome you are. It's got you wrapped in a warm gorilla hug or adoration. It wants to give you everything you desire. It wants you to be happy. It wants you to see you it sees in you.
  • We're all busy, but it's the people who make enjoying their lives a priority who, um, enjoy their lives.
  • Take care of yourself as if you're the most awesome person you've ever met
  • Living a life on purpose is available to everyone
  • What you choose to focus on becomes your reality
  • Everything you do along your journey contributes to where you're going
  • Read magazines that interest you, talk to as many people as you can, hang out in places where people who share your interests hangout. Put yourself out there and you never know what you might learn that will inform you of your next move, or whom you might meet that will present you with your next opportunity.
  • Be grateful for all you are and all that you're becoming
  • Follow what feels good in the moment, every moment and it will lead you through the most excellent life.
  • Surround yourself with people who act out their big ideas, who take action on making a positive change in the world and who see nothing as out of their reach
  • If you want to attract good things and feelings into your life, send awesomeness out to everyone around you.
  • It was about no longer being the kind of person who takes what she can get, and finally becoming the kind of person who creates exactly what she wants
  • If you're serious about changing your life, you'll find a way. If you're not, you'll find an excuse
  • Stopping and noticing throughout the day all the things that you can be grateful for is a great way to keep your frequency high at all times. So try to remember to do it all day long, but at the very least make it part of your evert day routine
You are powerful. You are loved. You are surrounded by miracles. Believe, really believe that what you desire is here and available to you. You can have it all.  Love yourself.

You are a Badass!

Let's Celebrate!

Happy Tuesday! // Let's Celebrate, Shall we?

I truly do try to find a reason to celebrate every single day. Whether it's giving a co-worker a gold star, giving a friend a high five or a hug, spending time with someone I love, or planning my next party or get-together, celebrating is something I think we should always do more of!

There's always going to be stressful parts of our lives, bills to pay, groceries to buy and things to tie us down and stress us out, but instead of letting it all bother you and bring you down, let's try to take some time out of every day/week/month to CELEBRATE!

cel·e·brate
ˈseləˌbrāt/
verb
  1. 1
    publicly acknowledge (a significant or happy day or event) with a social gathering or enjoyable activity.

Social gathering or enjoyable activity? I am ALL about that life.

What are you celebrating this week?

happiness will find you.

I absolutely love this saying! It's a good reminder if you're ever going through a tough time. Happiness will always find it's way back to you.

This video makes me really happy.

My cutie pal Toni's "big list" is adorable and makes me happy.

I am SO happy, and the countdown is on until our Ireland & Scotland trip

// Hoping you find happiness today and this week. Monday, you've been good to us.

International Day of Happiness

Happy Friday //
Happy International Day of Happiness //
Happy Spring!
Wow, today was a really good day! So many good vibes and wonderful moments. Surprised one of my besties with birthday surprises at work, went for sushi lunch with awesome buds, made mimosas for everyone at the office, and it was so warm and sunny in Toronto that I walked home from work. I ran in to 2 of my favourite people on the way home, picked up some fresh flowers, and a gift for a friend and there we have it, HAPPINESS! Here's last years blog post on International Day of Happiness!

Some things making me happy lately:

Waking up to the most beautiful skies, and being about the see the CN tower from my balcony.

This story was so beautiful - this boy Odin is turning 13 today, and none of the kids he invited to his birthday party replied to his invite. His Mom made a Facebook page and thousands of people have been sending him happy birthday messages and showing up to go bowling for his party! It's so refreshing when things like this happen and we can all focus on the good things that still happen every single day.

My favourite girl sent me this blog post this morning with the most amazing quote - "When Spring came there were no problems except where to be happiest"

The Google header for the first day of Spring made me really happy today.

Simply searching the #InternationalDayOfHappiness hashtag on social media. SO much happy!

Constantly remembering why I am so lucky and having absolutely nothing to complain about. This print makes for a perfect mantra and I think everyone would agree!

Speaking of a mantra, I had so much fun writing my mantra for my blog. It perfectly describes how I feel about life in general and this blog! :

live life to it's fullest, and do everything with a smile. radiate positivity. always stay inspired, and inspire others. read more books, take more trips and always keep learning. adventure is out there! spread happiness every day and do all things with love. never give up and never grow up. focus on the things in life that make you happy. always say i love you. create, celebrate and never forget how lucky you are. cherish every moment, life is what you make it!

life is SO good. Today and every day I am so thankful to live my life in a positive way that constantly brings so much happiness. I am surrounded by so many incredible people who make me happy every single day. I hope you found some happy today, and continue to do so every day.

that time i had the BEST birthday ever

guys, i'm 29. WOAH! - when did that happen?
i must say, i really don't feel my age at all. which i've learned is totally fine. the main thing is that i am REALLY happy! like, the happiest. the past 6 months have been next level amazing, and after one incredible thing happens, another follows!

so last friday (august 16th) was my birthday! & for the past 3 or 4 months i've known that i would be away for a conference weekend for work. i know, i know - you're thinking "that sucks!" but actually, it's like absolute perfection! if you haven't heard me talk about it before, i LOVE my job. i have a special post in the works all about loving your job so i will save the gushing for that!

but what i will say is that i think this was probably the best birthday i have ever had. it was just the greatest feeling to feel the love! from the moment i woke up i had texts, phone calls, and comments wishing me a happy birthday. as soon as i got to work while everyone was outside they sang to me in the middle of queen street!

when i got on the bus, i got a birthday presentation from my friend val who gave me a birthday button, crown and wand! throughout the day on the way to camp and upon arrival i got sang to SO many times! it was so cute! honestly best co-workers and friends ever! i was showered with well wishes, gifts, cards (one in particular with the NICEST messages ever) *sigh* so wonderful!

i spent my day on crazy inflatable obstacles in the middle of the lake, playing beach volleyball, watching the sunset, having laughs, lighting friendship lanterns, a karaoke party, camp fire etc! so much love! :)

one of the most special moments of the day was when an amazing friend had everyone at camp sing happy birthday to me! NICEST HUMANS EVER. // i even said a speech! (lol)

the moral of the story is, i am a very lucky girl who appreciates all of the incredible people in my life SO much! my heart is so full ♥ LIFE RULES!

&& here are a few snaps from my special day//weekend!

here is me on my birthday (very smiley);

this is what my (free) morning coffee looked like! how cute, right?;

i sat on the dock at camp with an awesome pal and watched this unreal sunset!;
this was sunday night when i got home & opened my birthday gifts from pete! tambourine!;
pete went back to the antique market & got me this vintage radio! (& mason jar!);
my wonderful boy spoiled me once again!!! ;
